A beautiful property in an ideal location. I don’t want to tell anyone, though, as I would like to keep it for myself !

Very pleased we chose this holiday home. Five minute walk to city centre with good parking. Very well designed and equipped. A pleasure to spend a week here. Stays York staff excellent, going the extra mile to help. Our thanks to Julie, the owner, and agency staff. Very happy visitors, we will return.

The cottage is in an ideal location, was perfect for two couples and a dog and the parking available was a bonus. Close enough to plenty of cafes and restaurants (many dog friendly) but well equipped for cooking at home as well. The cottage was cost and warm when we arrived which was lovely. The courtyard and gates were great for the dog as there was safe outdoor space. Would definitely visit again!

Moatside Gate is a winner on location, being minutes away from the centre of York. The property is warm and cozy, with the interior layout providing almost two separate double en suite rooms. Add to that a fully equipped kitchen, and there is nothing to fault with this beautiful little holiday getaway.

We have been coming to York for Christmas shopping for several years now and spent the last 3 here at Moatside. Lovely little cottage within easy walking distance from the city so we can just park up the car for the few days we are here. Always nice and clean and with all the amenities you need.

Lovely small cottage situated just outside the city walls a brisk 10 minute walk from the heart of York. The cottage has all the facilities you will need and we found it warm and comfortable. There is parking for 2 cars but you may struggle if you had 2 large cars. The cottage is bright and modern with a small seating area outside. Would certainly consider staying again if we return to York.

The property was very convenient for the bus service and very well equipped. It was clean, modern, and very spacious considering the size of the property. It was good to have parking available, and we felt very secure being a gated property. However, once the car was parked, we had to squeeze between the car and a large bush which we believe to be bamboo. As we had rain most evening, upon exiting the property each morning we got wet. I do believe this bush should be cut back or re-sited Unlike some previous people who have stayed at Moatside we did not find the lack of darkness during the night whilst sleeping to be a problem however, we were informed by email by Stay’s York that the property has two king-size beds. In reality, the property has one king-size bed and one normal sized double bed. Not good if the holidaymaker is used to a larger bed. We would return to the property again and use Stay’s York again but perhaps they could become more au fait with the finer details of the property.

Tucked away in the middle of some apartments is this little cottage. Good level of equipment with everything you should need for a mini break. The main town is just over 5 minutes away, The parking area is for smaller cars (which is stated in the property description) but driven very carefully I managed to fit our F-Pace in.....just!! Very minor issues I know but the mattress in the bedroom felt like it was a cheaper sprung one and the skylight, while having a blind fitted was too high to reach so we couldn't close it.

Great location, awesome set up. Perfect for two couples or folks with kids. On site parking made loading/unloading easy, and you are a short walk to everything in York. The apartment had everything we needed and was nicely decorated with local art. Big thanks to the great leasing office for all their help before and after check in. Flora helped us sort out something we forgot which was very kind. Would absolutely recommend staying here, and we hope to stay here again the next time we’re in York. Thank you!

The accomodation was close to the minster area with on site parking, so useful. The property was well equipped, comfortable, especially the beds, and tastefully furnished. The en suite facilities for each bedroom were excellent.

We stayed at moatside gate for 1 week cottage is gorgeous very warm close to town centre. It is nice and private lovely and clean plus modern . We really enjoyed our stay and will definitely return thank you

My husband and I stayed at moatside gate York this weekend, I would just like to say it was the best stay we have had in York, the apartment was beautiful everything any one would want, we have stayed in Dean court hotel the Grand and the Malmason and this apartment was far superior , just to say thank you until next time.

My Husband, Daughter and I come to York every December for the Christmas experience. This is our 3rd stay at Moatside Gate. It is convenient for the shops and restaurants. It has always been clean and well equipped. This year they have made some improvements to the bathrooms, installing a shower in one instead of a bath and overhead shower and upgraded the shower in the other, which are much better. We will be back again next year, all being well, and hope to stay here again.

Accommodation was fine. Comfy beds/good bathrooms, lovely and warm. Could have done with dish cloth in welcome pack. Position re York really good. Parking we did have someone block us in for a while (something to be aware of) . Reason for low score on customer service was WiFi not consistent. Was told router would be replaced (as WiFi not working ) during in stay if left key for access which we did( told would happen Friday , it didn’t then told would be Saturday but that didn’t happen either). Had temporary Wifi which didn’t work very well initially and then stopped completely on second day of stay and I had a teams meeting about my son in residential care which disconnected mid meeting.

A excellent place to stay in all areas providing location,quality and luxury. Return here quiet often because its exactly what's required on a holiday. Can't praise enough.

Lovely cottage with well thought out use of space including the outside area! I felt the write up could have been honest about it’s location. Felt I was staying in a courtyard garden of a bunch of flats. The blinds in the room are pointless (bedroom ones let in too much light, others aren’t complete blinds). Very noisy but expected being where it is. Lovely cottage, fairly clean, really close to most areas. Just shame about the wrap around flat scenario

Great place if you want to go cycling every day.Yorkis too busy and crowded,The walk into town via Gillygate is disappointing because of the traffic and the constant traffic jam causes pollution.Moatside court property is fine.Little garden.Small car can be parked within the gate. Don’t know if we will stay here next year.

Incredible little cottage right in the heart of the city centre, yet once the door is closed you could be in the middle of nowhere. It’s a peaceful tranquil place within walking distance of a gorgeous city and all the sights that York has to offer. Beautifully decorated, lovely comfy beds, brilliant shower and great to be able to have a relax in the bath too. All the mod cons you need. Couldn’t recommend it highly enough!

A lovely place to stay, right near the city walls, you can walk everywhere from here. Comfortable beds and kitchen well equipped. Clean and well maintained, comfortable for 4 people and has benefit of 2 parking spaces . Would highly recommend and would return .

First class accommodation for 2 couples. Excellent location, right by the city walls. Spotlessly clean single storey cottage with every amenity. Secluded courtyard and covered parking. Highly recommended.

Exceptional stay. Superb accommodation, exceptionally well equipped and spotlessly clean . Ideal location , so convenient for the centre of York and the Minister but in really quiet spot.

We have been coming to York from Somerset for many years now for our Christmas shopping. We love it here. This is the second year we have stayed at Moatside Gate. It is convenient for the shops and restaurants. The house is well equipped and clean. The only thing missing was a few Christmas decs but I assume because of Covid this was not possible. Will be back in 2022 hopefully if all goes well.

Moat side Gate was the perfect property for our stay in York, especially with private off road and secure parking which was the reason we chose this cottage. Everything about the property was spotlessly presented, I would certainly chose to stay there again,but only if prices were at pre 2021, I was fortunate to have booked when I did in December 2020. The current charges are extortionate.

Very good cottage to stay in York. Location and parking area are first class. Rented the cottage several times and hope to be back in the future.

Moatside Court is a lovely cottage with private access and outside space. However we did encounter some issues whilst we were there. The beds for us were to soft and the pillows were lumpy and definately could do with being upgraded to better quality. We also felt that due to the heat the duvets were to heavy and possibly a lighter option could be available. The bin schedule was out of date and one of the bins was overflowing when we arrived and unfortunately we had to leave the remaining one full as we had missed the uplift. We reported this to the letting agency and they said they would look into this for us. When we came back after a day out twice to find the gate was open and we had definately closed it behind us. The agency informed us that no one else had access to the property then we were told that the neighbour had and also the cleaners did!! so that was a bit off putting for us. If these things were sorted out we would not hesitate in returning to the property.

This cottage is tucked away in a "secret" place! Perfect location and they have provided everything. Gorgeous cottage . Very private. 5 minute walk to all the action of York. Definitely will be returning asap.

A lovely mews type cottage which is very close to all attractions and very well appointed with lots of little extras.

Overall an enjoyable stay although disappointed in the WiFi.All racing app’s blocked and this was the main reason for our visit to York ,if we had known that beforehand we would not have booked the property

Our third visit to this property and is looking a little tired with downlighters loose in the lounge. Still poor blinds in the bedroom Allowing light from the street light to cause too much light making a good night sleep difficult. A lot of noise from the locality with frequent sirens from the ambulances as the hospital is nearby. Ideal for York, easy walking and good parking for two cars. All on one level and two bed/two bath makes it ideal for two couples. A bit pricey we now feel and will look for other options in the area if we do York again.

A fantastic property just 5 minutes walk from the Minster and 10 minutes from the centre. Felt very homely and had everything that we needed. Was very secure with the electric gate and walled courtyard. A great location. Would just say it needed one or two updates and a king size bed would be better, but would thought recommend and we would definitely stay here again.

What a great cottage. Walkable to the city and everything you need. Fully stocked kitchen, entertainment, bedrooms, bathrooms. Staff very responsive to help in any way.

Perfect spot to see York - the centre is just 5 to 10 minutes walk. Great to have a parking space although tricky to get into it at night especially as the plants are overgrown and set of your reversing sensors! Well appointed and warm and comfortable inside. Kitchen well equipped but do bring a good corkscrew with you if you like wine.

The cottage and the location were as near perfect as we could have wanted. We would highly recommend the cottage to anyone wishing to visit York.

I have been there 3 times and I am going to book again for next year as it is just what we need ( excellent).

This place is ideal for a short break in York, parking, short walk to the centre, clean, excellent facilities, comfortable. Only two issues, the bed in the rear bedroom is showing signs of wear as my daughter said she could feel the springs. The other point is the lack of decent curtains in the bedroom. With there being a street light outside, the bedroom is light all night and with early morning sun in May it was light at 4:30 am. So decent blackout curtains would help to get a full night sleep.

Good accommodation which had everything we needed including parking and an excellent location for both going into York ( 2 minute walk ) or driving to venues further afield

What a find, in the heart of York but feels secluded, very clean and modern, stayed with another couple but rooms far away from each other to be private. Will definitely be booking again

Every thing was very nice clean and comfortable perfect location Beds were very comfortable the only gripe was whilst the blinds at the window were very nice they let in far too much light added to this there was a lamp directly outside the window it was very disturbing lit up the bedroom all night disturbing our sleep

Stayed at Moatside Gate for a week in October/November. A very very well equipped house that was very cosy and warm in a cold period of weather. Excellent situation five minutes walk from The Minster.

The apartment is in a great location and as a whole a very enoyabe stay. Just a couple of little niggles. The mattress in the back bedroom is very worn and you can feel the springs starting to come through. Also the grill and coffee machine hadn't been cleaned properly. Wouldn't stop us staying again though as everything else was fine - just a new mattress and a little more attention to detail needed!

Moatside Gate was an absolutely charming cottage, located very close to town with countless nearby pubs, restaurants, supermarkets, and beautiful Minster. Everything was as promised with added bonus of weekly cleaning service because we were there for an extended stay. The only area of comfort that I feel could be improved would be changing one of the double beds to either a queen size or two singles. Being from Canada we found a few little unfamiliar quirks around the place but these were soon sorted out with an email or by popping ‘round to the management office where they were very friendly and helpful. I highly recommend the property and will be booking it myself again next year. Thanks York Stays!

Moatside gate is an upscale cottage with a modern, well-equipped kitchen and two comfortable bedrooms and bathrooms in a split-floor plan configuration.. The location is excellent, being walkable to the Minster, the old city and the rail station. The hosts provided helpful local information and replied promptly to our questions. We would love to stay there again.

What a great location! Walk to everything in either direction: restaurants, sights, shopping. No problem with noise at night. Internet worked well, as did TV. We parked the car in the driveway and only used it for day trips outside of York. Loved having our "own" home, with all the amenities for cooking at home. Modern yet cozy. Very comfortable bed, spotlessly clean bathrooms. Great clothes washer, all flatware seemed new and shiny. Nice welcome tray with coffee, tea and chocolates. Full size fridge. Minor: A bit of trouble with the wrong gate code at first, but our call to customer service was answered immediately, very impressed. We finally found the fireplace controls in the front under a panel, but could not get it to work. Would absolutely come back to this home, and have recommended it to friends. It would be perfect for two couples.

Most side Gate is ideally located to the centre of York. A quick 5 minute walk and you are in the city centre. The house is lovely cannot fault it in anyway. Very comfortable with everything you could need. Lovely outside area which in summer would be lovely to sit out in the evenings.
