Good place for a short stay; comfortable, spacious and in a convenient location for both town and supermarkets. The one thing that could be improved is the TV, it's almost ludicrously old and slow. Think you could get a second hand one for 50 quid that would be ten times as good. And the geese on the river can't half honk away.

Struggling to Find Fault

Overall an excellent property. Very well equipped in the kitchen area with generous worktops, good quality appliances including separate fridge and freezer, easy to use cooker and freestanding microwave. Overhead cupboards for plates etc are a bit awkward to use as they wont stay open but thats a minor quibble. Washer/ dryer housed in a separate cupboard is a plus point. I would have preferred a shower cubicle rather than a shower over the bath but thats maybe an age thing. Having a separate bedroom is a real bonus. Plenty of hanging and drawer space. Mattress maybe a wee bit soft. South facing windows let in lots of light. Places to sit outside, very few people going past. Definitely the best apartment Ive stayed in over the last few months.

Great location and quiet place with river view, Good security. Few minutes walking to many supermarkets like waitrose and morrisons. Excellent home appliances.

Accommodation Okay Location Poor

The apartment was as expected however the main problem was car parking. The information pack that is supplied by 'Stay York' suggests the closest car park is Shambles Q Park which isn't correct. Having taken this information at face value and having pre-booked with Q Park and paid pennies short of £70 for 3 nights parking it was extremely disappointing to find that parking was available outside the apartment block. Admittedly the charges would have been similar to that at Q Park however it would have been more convenient given that the walking distance of approximately 500 metres from the apartment to the car park caused a lot of discomfort in my ageing joints.

“We really enjoyed our weekend in York. The apartment is spacious and well equipped - lots of kitchen bits, coffee machine etc. Plenty of nice places to eat just round the corner in Walmgate (recommend Il Paradiso) and about a 10 minute walk to York Minster. In fact we found everywhere in York to be walkable from here. Despite the central location, it was quiet on the river at night and we slept very well. Thanks again, we will be back!”
