A true gem of a property that will appeal to many. This recently modernised terraced property is located just a couple of minute’s walk from the city centre. The River Ouse and popular restaurants are also less than 2 minute’s walk away. The property benefits from on street permit parking for 1 car.
Internally the property has been furnished and equipped to a very high standard. The open plan lounge, kitchen and dining area combine style and comfort. The lounge easily seats 4 with a wall mounted LCD TV and complimentary Netflix for your enjoyment. The kitchen is equipped with a large range cooker and gas hob. A very unique feature for a city centre property. There is also a dishwasher and washing machine along with plenty of cupboard space and dining seating for 4 people.
The kitchen comes with double patio doors that lead out onto a well maintained courtyard area with table and chairs for 4. Just perfect for enjoying summer evenings and crisp, Autumn days.
The second floor of the property features a modern bathroom suite complete with a shower over the bath. A flexible bedroom also occupies this floor. The beds in this room can either be set as 2 singe beds or one double bed, making it a great option for families.
A staircase then leads to the third and final floor where the main bedroom can be found. A very well presented double room with matching bedroom furniture.

Lovely little place, Spotless clean very well presented twin beds huge super king size on top floor room plus sofa bed. Plus everything you need including, washer, dishwasher, washing machine. Everything you would expect in your own kitchen even down to washing up liquid and bleach. Even tea,coffee,sugar & a fresh bottle of milk in fridge. Plus a stunning touch of a cheeky little bottle of Red Wine sitting on dining table.. Highly Recommend will stay again x

Had a lovely weekend with my husband and my mother. The place was lovely, clean and cosy and well equipped. Easily walkable tomorrow Shambles and the Minster and other locations. Parking was easy and close, despite the roadworks during our stay (which we’d been informed about). Host was communicative and helpful.

We had a wonderful 2-day stay. The apartment was charming and spotless. It has wonderful amenities. It was walkable to all the sites, easy to get to from the train station, and very, very quiet. Highly recommend.

Fantastic location - so close to the city centre but tucked away on a no through road. Cute traditional terrace with lots of nice touches, such as an assortment of condiments, plenty of tea and coffee plus wine and milk chilling in the fridge. A on street parking pass is included, but York is so compact that we walked everywhere. The courtyard was a bonus as it was very warm for our first few days. Communication with Paula pre and post stay was great - so helpful and welcoming.

Beautifully appointed, clean house in a quiet residential area, 10-15 mins from most attractions and from park. Has parking facilities and is 10-15 mins walk frim station. Excellent communication and lovely to have tea, coffee, milk, and wine waiting as welcome gift. I would have given it 5 stars all round but reed diffusers and feather duvets and cushions affected my comfort, but if you don't have such allergies you should definitely book.

We loved our stay at 22 Buckingham Street. The place was exceptionally clean, well decorated and very comfortable. It's on a quiet street and yet very close to all the things visitors want to see. I would definitely stay here again.

This beautiful apartment is the perfect lodging for a stay in York. It has everything for comfort and security. The ground floor has a living room, kitchen/laundry, and patio. There are chargers, a Bluetooth speaker, a washing machine with drying rack, patio set, and beautiful furnishings. On the next level is a lovely bathroom (with closet and additional drying rack), and a bedroom with two single beds. Up top, theres a cheery, light-filled king-size bed bedroom with lovely rooftop views. Everything is spotless and designed for beauty and comfort. We will definitely book this apartment on our next journey to York!

Love the space of this 3-storey house. It was comfortable & cozy. As it is an older building, there seemed to be a slight musky odor when we first entered. And a bit of a water leakage in the kitchen. But the response from the agent & owner were so prompt and helpful, it made everything better. Overall a wonderful stay!

Lovely accommodation, clean, comfy and everything you could possibly need. Really comfy bed for an amazing nights sleep, great sized rooms and lovely courtyard garden for breakfast. We were left milk, coffee & tea plus a lovely bottle of red wine, such a nice welcoming touch. Perfect location for exploring a beautiful and fascinating city. We spent a lovely 3 nights in York over the New Year weekend. Buckingham St is a short walk to the centre of York, and the city is a great place to wander the streets + enjoy specific places. The Minster is the highlight, but lots of other places to enjoy. Lots of eating places. We walked the walls (best when not raining) - and one way to access the walls is 5 minutes from Buckingham St. The house is a great base - and very peaceful and quiet despite its nearness to the city.

We had a lovely 4 night stay here over half term. The condition/cleanliness of the property was immaculate and the location was perfect too. A quiet side street but literally a 5 min walk to one of the main bridges into the centre of York. Great for a family of 4 too. Would definitely rebook if/when we return to York.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, the house is spotlessly clean and has all the finishing touches to make your stay as comfortable as possible. The house is well equipped and extremely close to the city walls, no car is required as everything is accessible on foot. My only advice would be to purchase a couple of fans, with our summers getting warmer its very hot in the evening (especially on the top floor)

My wife and I stayed here three nights with my two teenaged kids, and it was perfect. The house is extremely well appointed (kitchen equipment, washer, soap, sheets, towels, etc.), very well kept, and very comfortable. The location was perfect for us as well - inside the old walls, but not in the busy east side of the river. The host's information and communication were complete and effective, right up to when we arrived. Our only issue was being Americans not used to some of the appliances, but we figured it out. We enjoyed the neighborhood, and the price for the four of us for three nights was exactly as I'd have expected. Definitely the nicest place and best experience we had along our 2-week, 4-city vacation.

Absolutely do not hesitate to book this place if you want to forget the car, walk everywhere with ease, enjoy a lovely glass of wine in the sun trap back courtyard, and have a brilliant stay in York! Highly recommend. Beautiful cottage 5 minutes walk from centre of York. Host has gone above and beyond with great touches like tea coffee milk and sugar supplied plus tea towels dish clothes and washing up liquid. Hairdryer was great surprise for me as I had forgotten to pack mine! Towels and bed linen of great quality. Heads up to those with mobility issues: there are two sets of stairs in this property which are quite steep. Weather did not allow us to use outside space but there are cushions for the garden chairs and warm blankets should it be a little chilly of an evening. Couldnt fault it.

A really comfortable property excellently located with a very helpful host.
The property was extremely clean with all modern conveniences. The beds are particularly comfortable. The property was excellently located being a 10-15 minute walk to the city centre with its many shops and restaurants and attractions such as the cathedral and museums. The best pub in York, the Golden Ball, is only a 5 minute walk away. The host and property agency were extremely helpful and anxious to ensure our stay was enjoyable. We travelled by car and parking was easy facilitated by a residential parking permit.

Lovely house, exceptionally clean and presented , with well equipped kitchen, quality furnishings. Smart tv with access to streaming channels. We do prefer self catering accommodation than hotels if staying for a few days in order to relax in comfort, which we had here. Parking pass helpful, although at times couldn't get near the house due to cars parking without one ? In terms of personal comfort, due to an accident with a lawnmower cable I do have mobility issues. I found it difficult to climb the stairs to first floor because the banister ends before stairs turn to landing. Which was a strain on my sciatica . Similarly, the bathroom is great but the bath was very slippy with soap suds and no grab rails to hold onto. My partner found that an issue as . well. Again, a personal preference, I don't like drench showers , not very flexible for rinsing hair. Also the water temperature fluctuations meant you couldn't duck aside when it went very hot or cold because nothing to hold onto. Lastly , the bed and bed linen good quality cotton but the pillows were hard as bricks, strain on the neck muscles. A variety of different pillow types would help. There is a street light outside the window, so I suggest a black out blind would help. Despite my observations it was a quality house but be aware if you have a mobility problems.

This is such a great place to stay, (if able) its in walking distance of pretty much everything you want to see in York. We got the train from London and the house is around 15-20 mins from the station. We've stayed at a few holiday lets now and this ranks up there with the best, it has everything you need dishwasher, washing machine, towels, bed linen, massive beds, great living space, maybe an adjustable shower head? Netflix, BBC iplayer, good communication by the owner. Plus the most important thing for us we could leave the car at home and walk to all the restaurants and attractions. Reasonable value so definitely worth a try.

Stayed here for 3 nights in Dec it is a lovely cottage very central for shops shambles bars restaurants very clean hand sanitizer dotted about the house paula the host has thought of everything even light bulbs and batteries !! This house is in a great location, just minutes walk from the city centre. The street is so peaceful too. The house itself is comfy clean and has everything needed for a lovely stay. Communication from Stay York as well as the owner was spot on. We stayed here with our two children aged 8 & 11 and it was just perfect!

What a beautiful and clean little house. Just the two of us, it ideal for a city break. Having the parking permit was brilliant, even though the street is very narrow, it was so handy to have it parked nearby. We mainly walked everywhere during our stay, and everything is within walking distance apart from the train museum. We had planned to walk, but the weather was poor, so we took the car. The welcome pack with a lovely bottle of wine was just perfect for our arrival, but Sainsbury's is only a few minutes walk away as is a Tesco Express. Everything was so clean and fresh smelling, with plenty of towels available. We chose to sleep in the top bedroom, so not to be disturbed by the street light positioned right outside the window of the bedroom on the first floor. Very comfortable bed, but if you are the type of person who needs the loo in the middle of the night, you need to navigate the steep narrow stairs down to the first floor bathroom. The little court yard at the rear was lovely and private, but due to the weather, we never had the chance to use it as such. I would be more the happy to recommend this holiday rental for others, as long as their mobility for the steep and narrow stairs was not an issue. We would also love to return to this lovely house and enjoy a bit more of York.

Perfect little cottage for a long weekend in York. The location was perfect, walking distance to town. It was very quiet . The beds were sooo comfortable. We felt welcomed to the property from the host with a welcome pack, made all the difference.

This is our second stay at this house and we will definitely visit again. Location is within 5-10 minute walk of the city centre so perfect. The house has plenty of space for four people and the bedrooms are a great size as well as the main living area having two armchairs and double sofa all very comfy! Decor throughout the house is stylish , clean and modern with traditional touches. The kitchen doubles as a dining room and is a very good size. We love this house and as we have now been twice it feels very much like a second home!!

“Fabulous location only 15 mins walk from the furthest of the main attractions. Parking onsite is also free with the permit provided, which saves you a lot! Check in was great, communication was via text and all questions were promptly answered by Paula. Lock box for the keys, which gave us the freedom to check in when we wanted to. House is wonderful, the perfect place for a short stay with many lovely touches like chargers and washing tablets to ensure you've everything you need. Everything was spotless on check in, and there was plenty of crockery and cutlery provided for meal times. Be sure to check the book provided for recommendations on places to visit and restaurants (we highly recommend Little Italy, delicious). Fabulous stay all round, and we'll definitely be back for more exploring soon.”

We had a fantastic stay at Buckingham Terrace, we were met by the owner who couldnt have been more helpful . The house is so comfortable & everything you need for your stay is available. The location is perfect as its a stones throw from the centre of town. The kids loved the house, plenty of room for everyone! Definitely return next year!

Access arrangements easy, car parking permit perfect, Close to all attractions so car was parked for the whole stay. Overall I would say this is quality accommodation which was spotlessly clean and very high quality fixtures and fittings (loved the drawer fridge!} Wifi is good (grandchildren comment)

Perfect and very important with private parking!!! Very quiet location and yet only a few steps to shops, pubs, theaters and so on. Quality furnishings, perfect and harmonious. Idyllic courtyard, wonderful for the daily meals, just take a deep breath and enjoy a Pimms. The upper bedroom has a very nice view, but it is very warm upstairs. Paula is very nice and relaxed and with questions responsive and helpful.
