Great location but needs a little attention
The location of this property is excellent 5 minutes from the Minster with the Shambles just a bit further on. York is a fantastic place to visit because everything is within easy access. The cottage was good and not so good. You enter through a door which leads into a passageway then out to a garden area. This whole area could do with a tidy up and maybe a lick of paint to brighten it up. The living room, bedroom and kitchen were clean and had all the equipment needed. However what let the property down was the bathroom. The shower really needs a good deep clean as with the shower mat. There was no where to put anything in the shower with just a broken little soap tray. The outside area was interesting, a little patio area and further on the upstairs occupants have bee hives. We thought from the description on the website there was only one bee hive however it turned out there was six of them which was very interesting when they came to work with them. Having said that we were never bothered with the bees. Really not sure if I would recommend this cottage or not.
Didn't stay, had to cancel
Unfortunately my wife was rushed into hospital the day before we were to begin our holiday and we had to cancel. Maybe next year!
Nice but worked needed
The annex was perfectly situated for a touristy weekend around York. Everything was within walking distance and theres a shop directly across the road for any essentials. The annex itself would have been lovely however, we arrived to a rather mouldy bedroom wall, stained carpets, lots and lots of cobwebs etc. We were really looking forward to having the use of the terrace included in the pictures. Again not very well kept, rubbish bags strewn around, weeds etc, and a shed which was left wide open brimming with clutter. Was a nice stay but for the money you pay I cant say I was too impressed with the lack of finishing touches. If maintained better would make more of a lovely place.
