Built in 2016, this one bedroom property has been constructed to a very high standard throughout. ‘The Smithy’ is located in the village of Fulford, a short 5 minute drive from the city centre. There is private off street parking just next to the property for your convenience.
The cottage itself has a fantastic open plan feel in the downstairs area. The spacious living area runs through into the high specification kitchen. The kitchen area features a range of high end appliances including washing machine, tumble dryer, dishwasher etc. A very nice feature of this property is the large skylight above the kitchen that allows a great deal of natural light in. Patio doors open on to the private outdoor area that’s perfect for summer evenings and a very rare feature for a one bedroom property. A staircase leads to the upstairs bedroom. The adjoining ensuite has been tastefully styled and features a good size walk in shower.

The Smithy was off a busy road but was quiet once inside. It is furnished nicely, and the kitchen has just about everything you need. A bonus for us was the washing machine and tumble dryer. We were away for two weeks across The Smithy and a hotel so being able to wash clothes was great. There is a hot sandwich shop just up the road which we used a couple of times. There is also a pub across the road. The bus stop is just up from the pub and gets you into the city centre in about 10 minutes, so you can leave the car in place.

Fantastic location only 30min walk into York city centre. Private off street parking in idyllic courtyard. Very well equipped with all modern amenities and more. Well decorated and clean. All you could want and will stay again

Great place to stay for exploring York. Nice walk along the river into the centre, took us about 30 minutes. The smithy has everything you need, and feels like home away from home. The welcome package was a particularly lovely touch. Would definitely stay again if we return to York!

The Smithy is the perfect property for a weekend stay in York.
Contemporary high end appliances in kitchen. Modern lounge . Simply gorgeous.
Upstairs a bright contemporary bedroom with double bed. Plenty of hangers and drawer space for clothes.
Contemporary bathroom with walk in shower again beautifully clean and bright .
Situated in a far corner of a court yard off a busy main rd. However you would never know the road was there.
Small paved patio to the rear of property with table and chairs which was a lovely bonus to have some outside space with the fab weather. Came with parking for one car . Buses are frequent so leave the car and get the bus . Lovely pubs and Fish & Chips shop all very close by.

“This was a lovely place to stay in a great location. Close to local shops, the outlet mall and only a 5 minute drive/Uber into town. The house is a stylish, and modern space with lots of brightness streaming in through the windows and sky lights. There was a lovely little welcome gift upon arrival and I found the place to be exactly what I thought it would be. Bar two issues in the kitchen, the place was very clean and well presented. I would stay here again and stay in other venues ‘Stay’s’ has to offer.”
