The listed building that houses this beautiful, spacious, three bedroom apartment is literally adjoining the historic city walls of York and a mere stones throw from the famous York Minster. It has recently been fully refurbished to an extremely high standard. It's understated elegance ensures the most relaxing of surroundings for your holiday in York.
Spread over two floors the apartment provides an elegant lounge, perfect for those nights in or a pre dinner drink before heading into town. There is also a lovely dining room where you can enjoy a meal that you can prepare in the fully equipped kitchen or you may decided to spoil yourselves and have your meal delivered from one of the many fabulous restaurants that are so close to you.
There are three beautifully finished bedrooms, two with king-size beds and the third which is a superking with twin bed option. All designed to ensure a comfortable nights sleep after a busy day making the most of the sights and sounds of York. There are two bathrooms, one with a walk in shower and the other with a bath add to the luxurious feel of this wonderful property.

We stayed at Number One High Petergate as a family (two adults and two children (14 and 9)) over the February Half-Term. We know York well, and the location was fabulous; a few hundred meters from the Minister, and it was lovely to be able to stay in the heart of one of the world's greatest cities. The apartment was comfortable and spacious, with all necessary amenities. We agreed that we would definitely stay her again as and when we are visiting in the future. Highly recommended.

Warm welcoming house which had been decorated beautifully for Christmas. Beds very comfy and so close to the Minster and some great pubs. Thoroughly enjoyable and memorable time.

Location location location . A wonderful week in this lovely property. A cosy lounge to relax , spacious dinning room, everything you need in the kitchen. Lovely bedrooms and oh such comfortable beds. We all slept well ! Noise was not a problem as mentioned in some reviews, and we opened the windows to hear the bells and the chimes of the Minster - just magic. A family get together made perfect whilst staying in your lovely apartment with the City on our doorstep. Permit parking for one car in the council car parks and we were lucky to find a space in the Bootham Row park - easier to bring luggage across. 2nd car parked in a private space reserved for the period ( found on the internet ) a little further away and much cheaper than the council parks - so book early and find as nearest as you can , Stays York very helpful with any queries as the office is just below.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in York. Our accommodation was excellent, a home away from home, so comfortable and spacious, in a perfect location. Previous reviews had mentioned the noise factor however with the double glazing in place, noise was not a problem. Cant recommend Number One High Petergate highly enough. And Stays York was delightful to deal with, they made the whole process easy and we felt very welcome.

A wonderful place to stay. An unrivalled location, a smart, cosy and clean interior, very comfortable beds and a great check-in/out experience with a very useful welcome pack. This is our favourite part of York. As pointed out in the other reviews, it’s to be expected that it will be slightly louder for a period of time at night given the number of people around. We’ll definitely stay again.

Unfortunately we thought previous reviews might have been exaggerating on the amount of noise you can hear, in particular from the 2 bedrooms at the front of the property... How wrong we were! There is a lot of noise and I'm afraid mostly from people after a night out. You can hear every part of peoples conversations. We stayed for 5 nights and were woken up by noise every night/early morning and not just a few minutes, one night was over an hour we were kept up, at around 3am (and this was a week night, not the weekend). The property itself is extremely clean, great layout, and an excellent location but that versus a good nights sleep, I'm afraid makes it not value for money in our eyes. On the value we paid, if we had to pay that again, we would not stay here or recommend it. Should the windows be rectified (one you could see a gap at the bottom of the frame) to cancel out the noise, then yes, it would be worth the money. If there are other places available that you're currently reviewing, we would suggest go for another property. One other negative (and advice if you do book this property) is the TV, this needs updating.... The connection to the wifi didn't work. Would advise to take a laptop or other device if you like watching TV (Apps/Netflix).

As you say, the property is in the centre of York, only a stones throw from the Minster and we would expect that there would be some city noise, although it is not on a main thoroughfare. We take all feed back onboard and secondary glazing has now been fitted into all of the front bedrooms so you can now enjoy a comfortable nights sleep.
The television is also working and you can watch all TV channels plus Netflix on there.

One High Petergate was a beautiful property to stay in. It looked like it had been recently renovated with tasteful decor and furniture but had also kept lots of original features. Lots of lovely touches meant you felt like you were staying in a boutique hotel. The kitchen is modern and spacious with everything you could need, and the bathrooms are both luxurious and characterful. There is a lovely dining area which would be perfect if you wanted to stay in to eat also. The location is definitely a huge advantage, perfect for shopping, sight seeing and restaurants. We would definitely use the apartment again.

Wonderful stay in York. The property has a fantastic location, just steps from York Minster, lovely shops and restaurants. Inside, the property was beautifully furnished, well equipped and with very comfortable beds. We were delighted that we had booked it.
