A beautifully designed two-bedroom property, thoughtfully finished with great attention to detail to create a warm and inviting home-from-home experience.

The house has its own private entrance on Smales Street, just a short 5 minute walk from the heart of the city centre and train station. Also just a short walk to the popular Bishopthorpe Road (Bishy Road) area with its independent bars, restaurants and shops.

Upon entering there is a cosy sitting room complete with electric fire, TV and a sofa bed. Walking through here leads into the main living area where you will find an open plan lounge, dining area and contemporary kitchen.

The lounge features a wall mounted LCD Smart TV. There's dining seating to accommodate 4 for dinner too.

The kitchen is very stylish and features a breakfast bar to seat 2, dishwasher and washer dryer together with quartz worktops. There's also an Amazon Alexa device for your convenience.

At the rear of the kitchen is the house bathroom complete with walk in shower. There's also a lovely outdoor patio at the rear of the patio with Indian stone paving and outdoor seating for 4. Spare seating can also be found in the cupboard under the stairs for use at the dining table or on the patio.

Moving upstairs there are both bedrooms. The master has a super king bed. The second bedroom is a king size bed. Both bedrooms have wall mounted Smart TV's and dressing tables.

Although there is no parking with the property, there is a local car park very close by. Please enquire for details.

Wonderful little find in the heart of torkt

My family and I have just stayed at Maggoes place for 9 nights. It’s a beautiful 2 bed mid terrace home which has a sofa bed as a third bedroom in the lounge. The kitchen is very well stocked with everything needed and the seating area- particularly in the kitchen area which has an additional sofa was very comfortable. The beds are lovely and cosy and beautiful Roman blinds provide blackout from the sun. Tastefully decorated and 10 minute walk into York centre and 2 minutes from Micklegate, I loved nipping for a coffee and croissant in a morning from the variety of coffee shops on Mickelgate. We only had one issue with the property and that was the internet. This was intermittent and as all the TVs in the house were smart this affected their use. Despite trying to reset the router there was a clear fault on it as the light never went to green and we did wonder if there was an electrical issue as turning the floor lamp on in the kitchen affected the internet.

Central but quiet

Excellent accommodation less than 10 min walk to the city centre. For such a central property the street was quiet. The property was beautifully decorated and the beds lovely and comfortable. We took our small dog who felt right at home. Would highly recommend and will be back. Only downside is no parking outside but this didn’t bother us as we came by train and again train station was 10 min walk away.

Loved staying, but be aware of the parking.

We had a fabulous 4 night stay at Maggies place and it really felt like home from home. Great decor, fab kitchen with all necessary utensils and pans and things you need! Plenty of everything. Sofa bed in lounge was really comfy as well as bedroom beds. Warm and cosy and loved the opportunity for a second lounge area so our fifth guest could have their own bedroom in the front room. Everything was great, except the parking! It is clear on the description that there is no parking but if you cpuld now update your rice's that would be helpful. 24 hours in the nearby carpark is no longer £16 but is actually £25 at peak times and £22 the rest of the week! The out of town park and ride doesn't allow overnight parking we found out. So you really are held to ransom having to pay, if you need to park. For 5 days this considerably added to our cost. 🙁 But apart from this, otherwise, we loved the house! And customer service via email was quick, efficient and super helpful. Thanks x

We really enjoyed our short stay in Maggie's Place. It was the perfect location for exploring all that York has to offer and the house itself is v well equipped and ideal for our group of five. Excellent accommodation, the only thing I would pick up on is not enough toilet rolls for the length of our stay and some more washing up liquid. had to buy bleach and kitchen roll but other than than that no faults at all we will definitely be staying here again , that was our 4th stay there

I had a fantastic stay at Maggie's Place! The place was very well furnished and modernized, with a sleek design that made it feel both comfortable and stylish. We spent four nights at Maggies Place in York during our recent family trip, and it was a fantastic experience. The location is superb, just a 15-minute walk from York Train Station and conveniently close to all city center attractions. There are plenty of shops and restaurants nearby, including a Sainsbury Local and Tesco Express. Despite being centrally located, the neighborhood was quiet, making it ideal for our stay in York. The property itself was outstanding. It was immaculately clean, tastefully furnished with quality pieces, and adorned with beautiful decorations. Inside, it felt modern with excellent amenities like reliable WiFi, TVs in both the living room and bedrooms, and incredibly comfortable beds with crisp linens. The kitchen was a highlight, equipped with modern appliances including a hob, dishwasher, washer with dryer, microwave, fridge with freezer, oven, and all necessary cookware. The bathrooms featured heated flooring, and there was a lovely outdoor seating area as well. Upon arrival, we were greeted with a thoughtful welcome package including sparkling wine, local crisps, and candies—a nice touch that added to our enjoyment of the stay. The only drawback was the single bathroom, which, despite having exhaust fans, could become odorous at times. It was on the smaller side and might pose challenges for elderly guests due to its layout. However, the presence of air fresheners helped mitigate this issue. Overall, our experience at Maggies Place was exceptional. The combination of its stellar cleanliness and unbeatable location made our stay thoroughly enjoyable. We encountered no issues and would eagerly return in the future. Highly recommended.

Thanks so much for a great stay! Clean, comfortable, brilliant location for getting around York. The parking wasn’t an issue at all, but there is always ample on-street parking outside the house, so would be beneficial to provide a permit if able. The NCP car park is only a few mins walk away in any case so no big deal. We were a family of 4 with a small dog. Maggie’s Place was super comfortable and we appreciated the downstairs space for separate TV watching in the evenings! Beautifully tasteful quality furnishings (which is hard to find when you have a dog!) and a fab rear terrace for some outdoor space. All in all, we had an amazing stay and have already recommended to others!

Maggie’s place is a well designed beautiful little cottage that is located in a quiet street right in the centre. It’s modern and clean and has everything you need for a relaxing stay in the city. Easy to book with clear instructions on using parking etc. Clean and comfortable. Near to town and attractions- 5 minutes walk to town. Parking is outside the property but street is very narrow and a bit tricky at times but we always had a space, nothing to worry about just nice to know beforehand. We had a lovely break at Maggie’s Place.

The property was spotlessly clean, very well decorated and appointed. We had everything we could possibly want in the kitchen, utensils, cooker. Microwave, dishwasher, coffee maker etc., etc. It was the first day of December and Christmas lights had been put up in the courtyard garden and living room and tasteful decorations over the mantlepiece. We had also been left a hamper which was very unexpected but very welcome. There are probably many more complimentary statements I could make.

Maggie's Place is a cosy and comfortable place to stay in York. Situated inside the city walls, all the attractions of York are a short walk from the door as well as a number of superb eateries, pubs and cafes. The house is very well furnished with super comfy sofas and beds along with a very well equipped kitchen. Lovely place - we will definitely return. We travelled with our 2 dogs on the train from London. An easy walk from the station - there really is no need to bring a car into the centre of York.

Fabulous!<br /> Loved the location, so close to centre however extremely quiet and dog friendly. Layout of the property was ideal and loved the back yard, it was a lovely little sun trap. The property had everything we needed and was so comfortable, the shower was great ,we loved the decor and furnishings, the beds were so comfy. It all felt luxurious. The gift hamper on arrival was the best we have ever had.

We had SUCH a wonderful time in York. The house was just PERFECT and the best location. The house was super clean and tidy with all the necessary items within the house to make it feel like a home from home. Communication was excellent, the location and parking right outside the front door was even better than I expected. The location is basically in town! Which means park up when you arrive and you wont need to use your car again! Thank you so much for the little extras like the welcome box, really lovely.

Well thought out and beautifully finished. Great location, a couple of streets back from the hustle and bustle so very quiet. Beds were amazingly comfortable, we had a lovely weekend will definitely book here again.
