Located just a short walk from the heart of the city centre, this 2 bedroom property has recently undergone a stylish refurbishment and benefits from professional interior design throughout.

The attention to detail throughout becomes apparent as soon as you walk through the private entrance and into the hallway. To the left is the lounge area with LCD Smart TV, comfortable 'L' shaped sofa and accent chair. A cosy space for relaxing after a hard days sightseeing.

The ground floor of the house also features a superb looking dining space to seat up to 6 for dinner and is accompanied by a wood burning stove. There's an attractive conservatory area just off the dining room featuring some lovely occasional seating and is a great space to while away a few hours. There are patio doors which open out into a pleasant astroturf garden. The seating from the conservatory can also be used in the garden area too.

The kitchen features solid wood, worktops and all the appliances you'd expected to find in a quality holiday let such as a dishwasher, washer/dryer etc.

Upstairs in the property you will find the house bathroom complete with a bath with overhead shower. There's 1 double bedroom off the landing and the master bedroom features a super kingsize bed that also has the flexibility of being set as twin beds upon request.

1 well behaved pet accepted in the downstairs area of the property.

Great place to stay

Everything about the home was great. Was cozy and comfortable in a nice location within a stones throw of the main city centre and river Ouse. The only things we found annoying was to do with the kitchen and bathroom:- The shower head was faulty but usable. The front of the shower head was coming away from the main part of the body of it. This meant the water leaked past it losing pressure. Was still usable but another shower head would be great. There was also no kitchen roll provided for minor spills etc and no oven gloves so cooking was a little challenging when using the oven and microwave. We had to use a thin towel what we was using to dry our hands so that wasn’t ideal. Apart from that we would stay again.

We’ve had a lovely week at Farndale Den. The house is in a great location. We had no trouble finding a parking space. The house is nicely decorated. We could have done with a few extra drinking glasses. There were only 3, but other than that it was well equipped.

The property was clean and tidy and the welcome pack provided is very helpful to get you started but with this property we had issues parking as the street is very narrow and busy, the alternative street parking is also not very convenient with the residents not being happy when you park outside their property even though legally anyone can park there. The mattresses in the bedrooms need replacing as you could feel all the springs so it was not a comfortable nights sleep.

We stayed here, family of four, for a long weekend. The location, on a quiet residential street, is fantastic and only a 15/20 minute walk into York along the river. The house is fairly well equipped and just a few additions would elevate it further. Lots to do in and around York and easy to get around walking or by public transport so the car wasn't used at all. Would definitely stay again.

This house is next to river, very quiet at all times while we were there. Very clean, could do with a lamp in living room as I'm not keen watching tv with ceiling light on, but this is a minor thing. Would definitely stay again.

Everything from the original booking process to check-out - and a very comfortable stay in between - was first class. All made very easy and at a very competitive price. Cosy, stylish and comfortable accommodation and properly equipped. We very much enjoyed the location and the walks into the city centre via the river path. Being dog-friendly was a big bonus too as it enabled us to bring our little Miniature Schnauzer with us. Even the weather did not dampen our spirits. This is a comfortable cottage in a great location, a lovely walk along the river to get into York. The area is quiet and parking was not a problem. When we arrived the beds were not made up as we had asked but Stays York quickly sent the cleaner back to sort this out. Only issue was the lack of an extractor fan in the bathroom meant that this got very steamed up even with the window open Would definitely recommend this for a short stay though.

We had a lovely stay here. Great location, just a short stroll into town along the river. Ample parking in the street but best for smaller cars as the street is very narrow. Modern decor throughout and good sized bedrooms. The hamper was a lovely touch! We asked for a late check out which they accommodated. Would definitely stay again!
