Another stay in an excellent, well-appointed flat

We have stayed in this flat many times over the last eight years. Although it’s not specifically sold as an accessible flat, there is plenty of space for my electric wheelchair. The shower NEEDS a non-slip mat as the surface is very slippery when wet. There was not one in evidence this year (we brought our own, and we always take removable suction grab-rails.). The large balcony is an amazing asset. The king-size bed is comfortable, if a little soft. Waitrose is just a short walk away (down Fosse Island Road). Sainsbury’s and Morrisons are a little further on. There is an amazing choice of restaurants within walking distance of the flat. We have booked again for this December and next July.

My first time in York, so beautiful! I liked the spacious flat and balcony, and especially that the photos online show you what you get. https://www.staysyork.com/properties/city-walls-sanctuary-28 Apart from the balcony door in the kitchen, which can't be opened, although there is an picture of it standing open. https://c621446.ssl.cf3.rackcdn.com/images/cottages/custom/large/189221298.jpg Also the living room area would profit from the possibility to open the balcony door again. https://c621446.ssl.cf3.rackcdn.com/images/cottages/custom/large/189221586.jpg For the next visitors: please don't febreeze the sofa, and either get much better WiFi or take it off the list of included features, as it was basically non-existent.

We decided to book this apartment as a treat for my husbands birthday and it didn’t disappoint!! Lovely and clean , fantastic location and parking was excellent too! The beds were ultra comfy and we loved the balcony - would definitely book again

Location is very good! convenient to walking and exploring York. Private parking space such a bonus! Good little apartment. Excellent communication throughout and especially when we had a few issues. The lift was handy especially re luggage and my older mum who was with us.

Stayed at apartment twice It needs some TLC and a deep clean needs this in between oven door Decking in poor condition and welcome pack very poor It would not take much to make this an excellent apartment Outdoor furniture was covered in bird poo when we arrived Needs more attention paid to it especially what we paid fir 8 days

There were several positive elements of this property : - well equipped kitchen - location is very good/close to City Center but not at all noisy at night - USB charging ports in Kitchen outlet a positive for keeping your kit charged up Areas for improvement - furniture is not as pictured in the listing - towel heater is on all the time - makes the bathroom very hot - outdoor furniture not clean/usable without a lot of scrubbing - no window screens - i realize this is a North American thing but in having windows open flies etc. were always an issue - no light blankets - we happened to be there during a bit of a heat wave and the bedding was just too hot

Lovely Apartment but in need of some TLC decking really grubby needs some maintenance not in good condition Trays in cooker needs replaced filthy Could be a beautiful apartment if simple things not done cheaply such as Welcome pack poor to other apartment have stayed in Would recommend if above do done Near to amenities would stay again if above addressed

This is a light, naturally warm modern apartment in a very convenient area for accessing the city centre. The large balcony is a big plus although there is some road noise despite the City Wall being in between the flat and the main road. The flat is well equipped and the bed very comfortable. The parking is very convenient and fairly secure. Security for the flat itself is good with a security gate on the main access. The only major problem for us was the wi fi speed. There is no fibre to the block and there were constant drop outs when trying to stream TV. Stays tried to help but there is no real solution. This was disappointing for a six week stay and would be impossible for someone trying to seriously work from home.

This is our first stay at 28 City Walls, a large, well equipped flat. Great location. Negatives: fridge freezer needed defrosting and hand rail is ESSENTIAL in the shower. Non slip shower mat provided was inadequate. Have booked again for next year and will continue to do so if the price remains affordable.

Advertised as sleeps 4 which it does but fourth bed not full size and room very small when beds as twins. Location and parking excellent. Balcony excellent too. Great for walking into York.

We highly recommend this apartment. It's super convenient for accessing all the tourist spots (basically half a mile from everything and obviously super close to the wall). The flat was clean, spacious and well appointed. The balcony was enormous! When we return to York in the future this will definitely be our first choice.

Lovely stay at city walls apartment. Excellent location 5-10minutes walk into the centre with many shops and restaurants even closer than this. Apartment itself was comfortable. It was very hot while we stayed, one fan provided which was great a further for second bedroom would have been helpful. Well equipped although no hoover/long handle brush made it difficult to clean up during stay. (Roller brush did not work). Our main issue was the rather odd smell of the apartment. On opening door hit with a smokey/musty smell (not cigarettes) which was present throughout and remained, although lessened, over our 6 days. While alone it would not deter us from staying again, it was annoying and something I highlight so can perhaps be addressed. Overall recommend.
