The Brierley

Our third stay here! Such a lovely homely apartment. Excellent location right next to the Minster. Excellent safe parking within a gated car park - you can see the car from the apartment. Small things that need to be addressed: the double bed is a beautiful sleigh bed but needs a new mattress. There is a bit of a drain smell around the bedrooms/bathrooms. The sofa isn’t terribly comfortable. Having said that we love it here and will return.

The location next to the Cathedral and the apartment itself has a real sense of luxury / exclusivity, within minutes of the city centre but away from the traffic and other noise. Definitely want to stay here again!

Apartment is in a beautiful location and building. Excellent secure parking. Peaceful and very quiet. Spacious apartment which has a lovely atmosphere. Two of the three smart televisions did not work despite the agent trying solve the problem. No full length mirror. Had to be careful in shower as there was no anti slip mat. The seal along the bottom of the shower screen in baththroom was very dirty. Items on kitchen window sill covered in dust. No user instructions for kitchen appliances and TV's No obvious switch for the standard lamps, thought they needed new bulbs. Eventually found the switch on the wall at the opposite end of the room. Couch is pilled and bit tired and the throw had hairs on it. Welcome pack very poor, 4 tea bags, 2 coffee bags, sachets of milk and 2 small packs of biscuits which were stale. Wrong Wi-Fi code in details emailed a few days before we arriived. As such spent an hour trying to get the Wi-Fi to work. Overall not as advertised and not value for money.

This was our second visit to this property. We love it! Tucked away behind York Minster with it's own secure parking space it's the ideal place to be in York. Everything is easily accessible on foot from it so no need to move the car. The apartment is on the first floor but stairs are new, wide and easy to negotiate. Inside it is well equipped with good quality furnishings and equipment.

Excellent location with dedicated parking in the heart of York. The apartment is beautifully decorated and well provided. The only criticisms are that it is lacking a full length mirror and non-slip mats in the showers, and the mattresses have soft edges which make you feel like rolling out of bed.

Apartment was fantastic in a great location. Stay York were very good and in touch before we arrived to make sure we had all the relevant information. Lovely welcome pack and secure parking was fantastic. Thank you.

my wife and i had a lovely stay i would recommend the brierly as a great place to stay when visiting york the decorating needs to be refreshed as it has to keep to the standards of local residents who maintain their property,s to a high standard but i do intend to go back also it was great to know our car was safe and secure in car park .

Had a wonderful stay at The Brierley. The location was perfect. The secure parking, a bonus. The kitchen was excellently stocked. We got in too late to go shopping so some shower gel would have been a bonus. We have stayed in 7 different properties in York in the past and this is our favorite. We will be back!

We chose The Brierley due to it's central location and the view from the windows. Everything was in the property that we needed for our stay and the Welcome pack was lovely. The apartment was very well presented, clean and comfortable. The heating was not too difficult to operate with the instructions provided. I struggled to get in the bed as it is rather high (I am short) and there was a lack of bedside cabinets/lamps in the master bedroom, we had to improvise! Our daughter is a photographer and we had to clean the outside of a window for her to get good images of the Minster with the sun setting on it. When the sun shone through in the morning we couldn't actually see out of the windows. That said, We had a lovely time and the Brierley is a great base for exploring central York.

It would be impossible to imagine a more perfect location for anyone visiting York. Directly opposite the glorious York Minster in the very heart of the city with views of the west front from the sitting room window, this apartment is perfect for up to four people, whether they are first time visitors or - like me - lifetime York enthusiasts looking for a base to enjoy a relaxing time in one of England's finest and most historic cities. The apartment is exceptionally well equipped and tastefully furnished throughout. Of particular note is the provision of a single but easily accessed parking space in a very secure area, entered via electronically controlled gates and immediately in front of the building. As York's medieval streets are largely pedestrianised and parking is both expensive and in short supply, this is a huge bonus. Great credit goes both to the owners and to Stays York for the excellent management of the accommodation and for providing very clear instructions and assistance with every aspect of guests' needs from the moment of booking onwards. Very highly recommended.

A well appointed apartment in a wonderful position, close to minster and with it's own parking. A rare find in York.

What a wonderful place. The location is just brilliant. The view of the Minster is just amazing. The flat itself has everything you need. It is very comfortable and stylist. And it having secure parking right by the flat is a bonus. Especially with being in the centre of York. Just a wonderful place.

We spent 2 nights with our children (2 adults, 2 children and a baby) in this apartment. It is very well located, quiet. The bedding is very good and the apartment well furnished and very nicely decorated. We even had the surprise of finding board games and puzzles. Parking is a real plus (in a secure place near the apartment). We really liked the welcome kit (with treats, coffee, tea...). Just to know before renting: no shower gel or shampoo provided (fortunately I had taken what I needed with me) We highly recommend it and will be happy to rent it again for a future stay.

This was our last stop on a 10 day tour of England and Wales, and by far the best place we stayed on the entire trip. A little difficult to find, but once inside, spacious, clean, views of the west end of York Minster, walking distance to everything. We would definitely come back and stay again.

We had a wonderful few days staying at The Brierley. Everything was of the best quality and very clean. Two complaints None of the televisions worked . We called the agents who sent someone out that evening but after working for 10 minutes after she had gone we had not picture again . Went around the next morning to the office and was told someone would come around to sort it out . We never heard anything else. It was a great shame for us as we wanted to watch the winter Olympics . We would have liked someone to be in touch and told us what was happening and to apologise for the lack of tv. We had after all paid for the use of 3 tv’s One other thing was that In the main bedroom there were no bedside tables or bedside lights . Very strange and very iconvenient .

The city centre location was wonderful, it was so easy to get to all the tourist spots, and the great eateries! The apartment is beautiful, good sized and well appointed. The only thing missing is a charger point for shavers/electric toothbrushes, so bring an adaptor to use in a standard wall plug. We'll definitely look to stay here again if we come back up to York.

Great place to stay; fantastic location right next to the Minster, spacious, well equipped flat with everything we needed supplied.

What a lovely place the Brierley is. So close to the Minster and all York has to offer. You can walk everywhere. There is no lift so not suitable for anyone not able to manage taking their suitcases up or climbing stairs. Allocated Parking space so useful as parking very difficult in York. Word of warning it is under a tree so we had to clean our car before leaving . Suggest taking a car cover. Apart from that brilliant stay.
