Amazing location, spacious flat but no fresh air

This flat definitely has a "wow" effect when you walk in - the rooms are spacious, everything is clean and bright and everything you require is provided. The location is optimal - just footsteps away from the old town! One thing somewhat marred our experience however: there are no opening windows! In summer we love to throw everything open and listen to the sounds of the city over breakfast, or simply let in some fresh air when we get back from an outing. The only solution here is to leave the front door open (it opens up onto an outside cursive at the back of the building so you can do this quite safely) and /or live with the air conditioning on. A little frustrating. Overall we would probably still return for another stay as all the rest was perfect.

Fabulous a property in an excellent location. Spacious, quiet and very well presented right near the city centre and above a supermarket. Highly recommended. I think the only improvements we could suggest would be opening windows (currently all sealed units with aircon / fans) and better blinds / curtains in the bedrooms to fully block the light out.

Lovely flat in a great location, ideal for exploring York on foot with a handy car park just opposite (permit provided). I stayed with my wife and teenage son for a long weekend. Communication from Stays York was excellent before and throughout our stay and quickly answered and questions we had. The flat was a good size, clean and had everything we needed to make our stay enjoyable.

only complaint is very poor check in details; having located the key in the key safe as per the extent of the instructions, we then had to work out for ourselves to use the fob to open the front door, take the lift up three floors, use another fob to get through another door then the key to enter the apartment! The apartment itself was great, but again on leaving the instructions for the bin emtpying was to place them in the bins in the garage….what garage? Where?! We had a problem with the lift whilst we were there but Stays were very responsive.

Lovely apartment close to York center. Comfy beds and everything you need. It was nice to find a collection of books and films for people to use. The only confusing part of the break was disposal of rubbish, although there was a map indicating the location. The owners had also added a map of york in the apartment which I found useful there is a pub across from the apartment which I could hear music while trying to sleep. Overall not a bad experience and would stay again.

Everything was good except the two twin beds needed to be replaced and were very uncomfortable. We reported the issue and I’m sure that this will be sorted out.

We stay in this apartment every year for a family catch up . It is always extremely relaxing and we can stay in or go out to sample the delights of York in the run up to CHRISTMAS as the apartment is close to the centre . The apartment is clean and always warm and cosy .

We loved the accommodation. It was very cosy and comfortable and a great base for 4 days. I would say that both the bathroom and shower could benefit from bath/shower mats as we found them quite slippy. The only other downside was trying to find a parking spot. Husband had to drop me and our daughter off with some luggage while he drove around trying to park. The closest, Bootham Row, was full as was the alternative on Union Terrace. The place is advertised as parking for 1 car with a parking permit. It wasn't until we got the check in details that we realised the parking was very much dependant on availability of a space as opposed to a guaranteed space. Fortunately after an hour we got a space in Bootham Row and the car stayed there until we checked out. I just think it would be better to let people know this when booking. Thanks

Stay away from this apartment for long-term rent!

This apartment is centrally located in York and within walking distance of almost everything. It is nice and clean. Unfortunately, it is not a good choice for a long-term stay (we stayed for one month), the main reason being that the ventilation does not work for cooking. We had to keep the front door open to let fresh air in while and after cooking as the extractor hood above the oven did not function properly. It did not have any carbon filter as it should according to the instruction booklet. We made the letting agency aware of the poor ventilation several times, but nothing was done about it. It is also important to note that none of the windows in the apartment can be opened, which was why we had to keep the front door open. This is of course not an acceptable solution in the long run and during colder weather periods.

We had a very nice weekend stay in York and the apartment was a big part of that Perfect location a stones throw from the actual centre Once we worked out the heating it was cosy only problem we had was Sunday morning getting up at 8am to shower and leave the shower was cold as not enough hot water The apartment though had everything you needed perfect size for a family of 4 With it being on the 3rd floor you really couldn’t hear any traffic from the main road below and very handy being above Sainsburys for your essentials Car park free with the pass just round the corner was perfect for the location and it was just handy to pop back with any shopping etc which we had plenty to carry on in the afternoon walking round Lots of places to eat although we did struggle with getting a takeaway the 2nd night we had a chippy night the first night, but we enjoyed a lovely Yorkshire pudding wrap instead All in all a lovely apartment at a great price for the location

The flat is in a great location, close to a number of excellent restaurants and a Sainsbury Local. Everything was in excellent condition and the kitchen was well appointed. I even cooked a batch of ratatouille to bring to my daughters flat at UoY. The provided parking was very convenient. We experienced a plumbing issue which was attended to quickly after contacting the service team. A small, thoughtful bag of supplies including coffee and tea was appreciated after a long journey from the US. My only complaint is the lack of salt and pepper in the shakers.

Kitchen sink unit door was hanging off ,the wood flooring had gaps that i had to push back into place in the kitchen , in the bathroom the toilet roll holder was set in the wall so far you could not reach it from the toilet, also hinges on toilet seat where rusty .When arriving was advised there would be parking permit in key safe ,on phoning the emergency number was told it was not needed it was digital ,but the information said it would be there and to place it back in the key safe when leaving or we would be charged for it ,and to finish it off when leaving from the 3rd floor the lift was out of order so had to make 2 trips on the stairs . But other from that the location for exploring York city centre by foot was ideal I would recommend this property to others providing the above matters where put right

The stay was perfect - the apartment had everything we needed. It was extremely clean. The staff were very helpful when we first arrived. We loved the welcome package and appreciated the air conditioning because sadly you can’t open the windows. My mum loved the place so much she didn’t want to leave! We will definitely be back next year.

In every aspect an excellent place to stay in York for up to four people with two separate rooms. High standard and overall good finish. Big screens and air conditioning in every room. The location is perfect, close to attractions, restaurants and outdoor activities. Small disadvantage (but not dealbreaker): Hot water heater sometimes noisy

Weekend in York

My wife, three year old daughter and I stayed here for the weekend and the flat was ok, nothing spectacular. The flat was located in a great area for walking in and out of town, visiting tourist attractions, going for walks and if you needed anything in an emergency, there was a Sainsbury's downstairs. The flat itself was ok. The windows don't open, so you have to rely upon the air conditioning and fans which were very loud. There was also some strange, loud noise coming from underneath the sink, I think it may have been a water pump, which was slightly annoying, especially when putting a wee one to sleep. The laminate flooring in the kitchen was in poor condition and missing compartments in the fridge. The bed was advertised as a king sized bed but I am not convinced it was. The bed was not the comfiest either. Marked down the cleanliness due to the amount pigeon excrement and feathers outside the front door. The trip away was good fun but I don't think we got value for money for this flat.

The apartment provides a wonderfully quiet oasis for tired and weary travelers and sightseers who need a respite from their journey and the travels during the day. It is fully equipped with all the necessary kitchen, bath, and bedding. Would love to have a couple of throws on the living room sofa for those quick naps during the day and later while watching TV. Thanks for everything--including early arrival and a working iron :).

The apartment was easy to find and great having parking. Very close to the centre and local amenities. Apartment clean and fresh with all mod cons. 3D TV great novelty after a busy day. Only 4 mugs so had to keep washing up and not use the dishwasher but if that is the only criticism ………

Really great place to stay close to the centre of York. Location great just outside the walls and supermarket next door, a little noise from the pub but it didn't go on late, lots of restaurants and pubs nearby lovely welcome pack from the hosts.

This is the perfect base for a family of four. 2 large bathrooms. Spacious lounge / dining area. A short walk to all of the local attractions. One of our best short breaks ever!

Superb location with excellent facilities.<br /> Very easy to collect keys - the parking permit was a great benefit. Location was superb - a few minutes walk to the Minster. Rooms were very tidy and flat spacious with some great views.

Comfortable, clean and convenient. The apartment was exceptionally clean. It was in a fantastic location and we could pop into the centre of York for a morning, come home for lunch and head out again. Great when in York with kids and you don't want the hassle of eating out.

Central comfortable apartment. Very good location, supermarket next door, very easy to walk into city centre places of interest, restaurants etc. Parking in next street available. Flat comfortable, quiet and well equipped re studio kitchen facilities.

Apartment was excellent, great location, 5-10 minutes walk to the whole of the city centre, would certainly return some day. The lift was also very welcome to the 3rd floor after a day on the hoof. The parking permit is a blessing, we parked in the council car park 1 min away just behind the apartment.

Perfect stay in the perfect location. Fabulous stay. Location was perfect, we walked in to the town every day. Apartment very clean, spacious and well equipped with all the mod cons. Welcome hamper was a really nice touch and much appreciated. Staff very helpful when we had a slight issue with key. Thank you so much for a lovely stay and we will be booking up again soon. Still so much to see and do that we sadly never got the time to do.
