Lovely house, lovely location

This was a lovely house, with big, spacious rooms and beautifully appointed. It was nice to have a separate dining room and utility room. Also, it managed to remain quite bearable in the heat, but we did appreciate the provision of tower fans, which really helped when it got too hot!

Perfect stay in York

The house is beautifully decorated and furnished and the beds are comfortable. The neighbourhood is quiet and full of families. We enjoyed the walk into York- an easy 10-15 mins. We wouldn’t hesitate to stay again our next time in York.

Longer stay, large family

We stayed here for an extended period due to work. We thoroughly enjoyed the space, the location and the area of town. We also had the opportunity to meet the owners on a couple occasions and they were lovely!!

Happy holiday

This was truly a home away from home! The house was well equipped, beautifully decorated with lots of lovely knick knacks that made it feel like a home rather than a soulless rental. They had even put up a Christmas tree and lights which was such a lovely touch. York Stays were very well organised and answered my questions promptly, even organising car parking at the last minute. We enjoyed our time in York and would love to stay here again.

Gorgeous House

We had a wonderful stay at Avenue Terrace, the house was clean and the decor was beautiful. Great location, close to the centre but also to Sainsburys for essentials if needed. I have already recommended to several people, and we hope to return soon!

It is saddening to take out this book because it means our lovely Easter holiday has come to an end. We have had some wonderful adventures here, walking the city walls, checking out the viking poop in Jorvik viking centre and castle howard too! All highly recommended. Short break

Lovely home with everything we needed. Managed to get parked everyday right outside! Nice quiet area but close enough to walk into city centre. Curtains upstairs in top bedroom weren't great, let the light in early morning. King size beds would have been nice but the double was very comfy. Lovely deco throughout. Would stay again!

Lovely, welcoming house. Very well presented. Like the touch of the fresh flowers in lounge. Very informative and useful welcome pack - also received prior to arrival. Brilliant location for town. Have visited some lovely pubs and places for food. Little cafe at the end of the street great for breakfast! Thanks for a great stay.

Perfect 2 day stay

The house was very comfortable for 3 adults and 2 kids, we had a great 2 night stay over the holiday period. There was some confusion initially if a parking permit was included (it is not), so parking only free on the street from 5pm Friday until 8am Monday (which was perfect for us). The kitchen was well equipped with everything we needed to cook including some useful condiments, very happy to book this at the price we paid over a hotel.

A beautiful house in a great location for walking in to the town centre. The extras like the shampoo and shower gel were great as were the milk and the bottle of prosecco in the fridge! The kids enjoyed the board games in the hallway cupboard and the big walk in shower. York is a beautiful place for a weekend stay and lots to see with the kids.

Fantastic stay

We travelled with 3 adults and 2 toddlers and our stay couldn’t have been better. The house is down a quiet street about 10/15 min walk from the York Minster and downtown. It was very clean and comfortable. The outdoor patio was pleasant and a nice place to play with the kids. The beds were great and the bathrooms had fantastic water pressure. Would stay here again!

Mostly good... but let down

Fantastic location (15-20 min walk to the city centre) and a beautifully decorated and maintained property. Parking outside the property is not guaranteed (it's a residents permit parking area most of the week) which is inconvenient if you're visiting with people who have mobility issues. You only notice things like this when it becomes important and as we were visiting with older mobility-impaired relatives, it was noticed. As was the lack of downstairs toilet - the stairs were a struggle, and it would have been helpful if it had been explicitly pointed out that there were no downstairs toilet facilities. It is not the owners or holiday company's fault that there are noisy neighbours, but on the first night it REALLY impacted us - they returned at 3:15am and partied until after 7am; we were all very tired on our first day. Other guests have commented on the noisy neighbours in the visitor book, so it's not the first time it's happened. The final issue was the size of the bed - it was tiny! We didn't get a good night's sleep the whole time we were there - the bed was narrow, but more annoyingly too short, and with a foot board at the bottom I couldn't lie out straight. The bed is in a huge attic room with masses of space, so why on earth they've put such a small bed in is a mystery. These are quite small inconveniences, and by themselves you'd probably dismiss them, but put together, we came away feeling tired and resentful that we weren't able to enjoy the break as we'd expected.

A lovely place

This is the second time with Stays York Again we stayed in a lovely property. Very convenient as it’s close to the Minster and the added bonus of having a parking space.

As a group of 4 we arrived at the door. A birthday to celebrate what is in store. A beautiful home. So warm and clean. Cosy and Christmassy, the nicest we have seen. The beds so comfy and pillows too. Plenty of room and access to the loo. A well equipped kitchen room. A brisk cold walk to the sound of Minster Bells, Shopping, Cocktails, Meals out, lots to tell! To end our stay we woke to snow - It made us feel quite sad to go. Thank you for letting us share your lovely home. We have had a lovely weekend.

We came to York to celebrate Christmas with our son and his girlfriend. The house was perfect, Christmas hamper and Christmas decorations. With tree and all! Everythihg was clean and well laid out, very well furnished too. The kitchen is also very well supplied with crockery and kitchen utensils. Perhaps including weighing scales would be an idea! Otherwise all is good. I hope all our guests will take good care of the house.
