The property has some unique features for a 1 bedroom, city centre apartment. There is a separate study room that's perfect for any remote working or catching up on emails when having a break from taking in the sights of York. The apartment bedroom features a double bed plus wardrobes and drawers.

The lounge, kitchen and dining space is very light and airy and a comfortable place to spend time in. There is also an excellent private patio area right outside the lounge. A real rarity for a 1 bed property within the city centre.

The bathroom features a bath with shower over.

We came to see the York Mystery Plays and chose this apartment for its convenient location not far from Museum Gardens, Exhibition Square and Bootham Bar. We greatly appreciated the free private parking which, for a 10 day stay, made this rental a relative bargain, especially in high summer. Quiet and peaceful for a city location, with secure gated access. Yes we could hear the neighbour upstairs walking around but we chose a ground floor apartment so were not surprised by this. Double bed was comfortable, bedroom storage was adequate. Bathroom had plenty of storage, though some robe hooks would improve it. The study bedroom was a great place to store luggage and our holiday purchases. Lounge seating was comfortable and kitchen facilities were fine. A large fridge freezer and a dishwasher made it easy for us to self cater. A problem with the toilet seat was resolved by StaysYork's diligent handyman. The tower fan in the bedroom was very welcome as the weather was very hot and the apartment is difficult to air out. The bedroom windows open directly on to a small lane, with passing cars, so leaving them open on a vent setting doesn't help much. We brought our own small portable fans, which I would recommend you do for a summer stay anywhere in the UK as aircon is a foreign luxury. The outside patio was charming, with comfortable seating, a parasol and lots of potted plants, though it was somewhat spoiled by stained paving that could do with a good scrub. Generally the apartment was clean, though the kitchen door handles were dirty. I saw that another reviewer had also noted this. The glazed front door is only partially frosted which is annoying as the bathroom is at the front, with the bedrooms down the hallway at the back. Bedroom window curtains are not blackout or thermal and have to remain closed if you want privacy. These are small niggles. We would definitely stay here again.

The sofa needed updating as it was a bit uncomfortable and needed more cushions and a footstool but everything else in the house was fine the bed was very comfortable

Als tuinliefhebbers zochten we een centraal gelegen uitvalsbasis voor onze dagelijkse uitstapjes. Summerhouse Mews is daar ideaal voor gelegen : enerzijds ligt het net buiten het centrum van York waardoor onze uitstapjes per auto vlot verliepen en we niet in een enerverende file terecht kwamen en anderzijds ligt het kort genoeg bij om via een kleine wandeling in het centrum van York te kunnen genieten van alle faciliteiten die de stad biedt. Summerhouse Mews is een zeer rustig gelegen woongebied waarin rust en comfort domineren. We hebben zelden een geluid van een buur gehoord of enige hindering hiervan ondervonden. De gereserveerde parkeerplaats voor de auto is gewoon luxe. In het huurhuis is ook alle comfort aanwezig en wordt een avondje zelf koken ondersteund door al het beschikbare keukenmateriaal.

Great location for walking into York on foot. Very handy to have secure, well lit parking. Plenty of storage in the apartment. It was warm in the accommodation on arrival and easy to keep cosy as it was frosty weather. Good shower over bath. Furnishings could do with updating (sofa, dining table and chairs) but they were adequate. Quilt on bed too thin for winter. Luckily we had taken our electric blanket. We were comfortable here for the 3 night stay we had.

I look for a warm, clean, well equipped, cosy stay with a comfortable bed and a great shower. It had everything ! Kitchen had everything we needed. Fantastic flat in a very quiet, secure and private location. Parking with gated access, was perfect. Loved the open plan kitchen living area, which we made good use of. Lots of room. Would definitely recommend this flat and will be hopefully booking again in the UK’s finest city.

Good location with just a short walk into the centre, either along the river or through the museum gardens. The property was very comfortable and warm with everything we needed. Secure parking was a useful feature.

This is the second year that we rent this property. It has a very convenient location, at walking distance from the city walls. It has its own private parking. It is located within a quiet neighbourhood. It is also well equipped if you need a good internet connection and a dedicated desk, in case you need to telework. It is reasonably comfortable and the heating works very well.

We have stayed here before and were delighted to come back again. It is so close to the station and not far from the centre, yet it is lovely and quiet. Comfortable and spacious. Kitchen well appointed, including washing machine. Good lighting which is always a plus! Hope to come back here again next time we are in York.

We have just returned from our third stay at this address. Quiet residential area with secure parking which we look for. Lovely apartment within easy reach of the city centre. Had a problem with tv which was dealt with by Stays York. The only suggestion would be the outdoor table and chairs could do with updating. Another successful visit to York .

Great accommodation. Park car and relax. Short walk into city centre. Nice and quiet. Bed made. Everything in flat you need. Dishwasher tablets, washing machine pods. Washing up liquid. Dish cloth, tea towels. Little bag with tea coffee and milk. Sainsbury local not a far walk. Will use again next time we come to York. So much to do we still haven't done everything. Better than stopping in a hotel.

Nice apartment in excellent location for visiting York, even has reserved private parking space. Equipped with everything you need. Felt odd that you don't see anyone - just collect key from safe outside, stay, lock up & put key back in safe. Probably system devised during Covid, and it works.

Fantastic location with private secure parking in lovely little residential development. Loved it so much we nearly rebooked two trips. Unfortunately, due to the noise from the flat above our entire stay was completely ruined. We had asked Stays York on day 2 if they had received complaints before but said they had not heard of any problems. However the noise is mentioned on other reviews and find it hard to believe they didn’t know. We were awakened every day around 6 am with what sounded like heavy housework and furniture being moved and the noise contained for hours in end - we went home exhausted. Very disappointed Stays York did not reply to two emails and such bad customer service. If you want somewhere to relax then this is NOT the place for you. Such a shame as a great flat and location.

Couldn't have wanted a better location - 5 minutes walk from York City centre. Parked the car when we arrived and it didn't move again until we left! Comfortable, clean and very well presented flat on a quiet gated site. Only down side was the shower leaked due to broken seal. It just meant we had to mop up every time!

We have stayed here before & find the location to be excellent. The bed sheet had a patch of brown stains & all the door handles were sticky & there is still one light in the kitchen area that need a replacement bulb!

A very comfortable and relaxing break. We have used this apartment before and were glad to be able to book again. Very easy to walk to all amenities and attractions in York. Very clean and comfortable and the welcome pack was much appreciated. Quiet outdoor area for enjoying the good weather unfortunately on of the chairs is slightly broken at the back.

Excellent place away from the awful crowds of the city.Walk through museum gardens avoids the busy roads.Brilliant for cycling.It is right on the trans Pennines cycle path.Easy ride to Selby.Stamford Briidge,Etc.Evening walks away from the city.The parking at the property is excellent.There is an ok patio area for sitting out but no view.At the back of the property it is a bit like l living in a fish bowl.The towels had a musty smell.However all things considered and having trawled through loads of other properties and looked at their situation I would stay here again

Centrally located comfy apartment only a short walk from the river and through museum gardens into centre of York. Added benefit of a secure car parking space. The living space is not huge but fine for a short city break. Comfy bed with lots of storage in bedroom. The external patio area with seating is not private particularly or enclosed. It was generally quiet and overall makes an ideal base when visiting York.

We really enjoyed our stay at SummerMews. The apartment was very well equipped for cooking which we took full advantage of. It was centrally located with a five minute walk into the centre of York and with easy access to nice walks along the river. Would definitely recommend this apartment and we wouldn't hesitate to return ourselves.

No. 10 is a great apartment- it has everything you need and more. Very clean, warm and welcoming. Bed is comfy, kitchen well equipped. Best thing about it is the location. Museum gardens is pretty much on your door step- feed the squirrels on the way to the shambles. Or a quick walk over the bridge to train station. You don’t need a car here because location is so central but if you do there is a free designated parking spot in the complex which is a real test in York. Short walk to everywhere you would want to go in York. If gardens closed just walk via river- excellent! Apartment itself is so good. Spacious without being huge. Well equipped. Well serviced. Clean. Quiet. Got everything. Very easy to love here. Couldn’t fault it.

We have stayed at this property several times and found it the perfect location for exploring York. Although positioned close to the centre of the city it is very quiet. The entrance to the complex is via electronically controlled gates which means the mews is completely secure. It's great to have free and safe parking included too! The apartment has all the amenities you could wish for, however we both felt that the bathroom basin and bath would benefit from a deep clean and the outlets thoroughly cleared as they are slow to drain. All in all though it is excellent value for money and I'm sure we will stay here again next year.

We have been staying in this apartment, with the odd exception, since 2012! The location is amazing, the Museum's Gardens are literally on the door step and perfect for a walk along the river or a stroll in the old town. There a small Sainsbury's within walking distance too. The apartment is well equipped, and just the perfect size with some outdoor seating too. It's a residential area so very quiet and allocated parking space is a real bonus (especially in York!). There were a couple of spots with accumulated dust and the kitchen extraction could do with a deep clean (being a returning visitor our expectations were very high!) but apart from that the apartment was clean and very pleasant. It was nice to see that the bedroom has been recently refurbished to a high standard which makes the apartment well looked after.

The apartment was fantastic and location couldn’t have been better. Unfortunately that’s where the good stuff stopped. The bed was horrendous… the worst I’ve ever slept on, sync I’ve slept in a lot of hostels and cheap hotels over the years. The customer service was awful… completely indifferent and of no help at all even though we were booked for 5 nights. It completely spoiled our whole break. The fact that’s we booked it to get away after the death of my mum just made it a million times worse. Due to the lack of customer care more than the hideous bed we would never stay again!

Please note these comments 1.Whilst the Quayside flat was fully equipped with condiments, cooking oil, kitchen towels etc this was noticeably lacking here and we had to purchase certain items. 2.The frying pans really need to be replaced as they are past their best. 3.The little welcome pack was unexpected but a pleasant surprise but there was no pack at the Quayside flat. Otherwise all good.

10 Summerhouse Mews is the perfect location for those wishing to explore York. We parked the car within the gated area of the mews and didn't even use it during the five days we were there. The apartment is within a few minutes walk of the city centre yet is very quiet. The property was very clean and had all the facilities you would hope hope for including free Wi-Fi and smart TV. Although we didn't need it there was central heating throughout the property. Our only gripe was that we found the beds to be rather lumpy and uncomfortable. However, apart from that small problem we found it a great place to stay and excellent value for money.

outstanding mini break. apartment was superb, even better than expected. well equipped with everything you need. doors and corridors are wide enough to be wheelchair friendly. double electric sockets either side of the bed to plug CPAP and phone chargers. private gated parking. fab location 2 min walk to Museum gardens. 5 min walk to town centre. Amazing find, we will definitely book again

Nice spacious apartment, kitchen had all the appliances required to self contain, after 2 months travelling was nice to cook a proper meal. Location was superb, 8minutes mother Minster through gorgeous gardens. Great to have outdoor area.

wonderful apartment with brilliant accessibility to the apartment. very quick walk into town though the gardens but if they're not open it's only a minute more along the river. very clean and everything you could need in an apartment, definitely 5 stars for everything, the price is a bit steep but for the location may be worth it
